I've worked with Custom Packaging Lane a few times this year on packaging for our soaps. They always deliver great looking boxes within our tight deadlines. Frank is super communicative and a pleasure to work with.

Very happy with Custom Packaging Lane. Sam and Sarah were great to work with. The quality of the printing and speedy delivery was very much appreciated. I use them for 2 of our custom printed boxes and will be using them for more projects moving forward. Sam was wonderful and even caught a typo that I missed. Thank you.

Blank size starts with the finished candy body plus the material needed for the chosen seam, end fold, twist, or adhesive overlap. Measure the coated, filled, and cooled candy rather than a mold cavity, because the finished outline controls the wrap. Wrapper specifications normally state width x length, material direction, seam overlap, and the position of any registration mark. A registration mark is a printed control symbol used to align a converting step.
Make a hand sample before artwork is imposed. A narrow blank can expose the product or pull open at the seam. An oversized blank creates bulky end folds, hides copy, and changes how grouped pieces sit inside a secondary carton.
Twist wraps need clear tail zones at both ends, fold wraps need enough overlap to stay closed, and paper bands need a controlled seam that does not land over required copy.
| Wrap format | Measurement input | Closing method | Artwork control |
|---|---|---|---|
| Twist wrap | Body length, diameter, and two tail zones | Twisted ends | Keep text out of the twisted areas |
| Fold wrap | Body circumference, end depth, and overlap | Folded seam and ends | Place the front panel after the seam |
| Paper band | Product girth, band width, and seam overlap | Adhesive seam | Keep the join away from the main mark |
| Favor overwrap | Grouped-piece envelope and closure allowance | Fold, tie, or label | Check copy after the bundle is closed |
For a wrapped bar inside a printed outer pack, compare candy bar packaging. Grouped pieces can also be planned against candy favor boxes before the wrapper dimensions are locked.
Decorative printed paper should not be assumed to be the correct direct-contact layer for every confection. The recipe, fat content, moisture, filling temperature, storage condition, and sealing method all affect material selection. Ask us about food-contact options for the actual product and process.
A separate barrier wrapper can use a foil laminate with PET, AL, and PE layers. PET is polyethylene terephthalate, AL is aluminum foil, and PE is polyethylene. Each layer has a different structural, barrier, or sealant role. The complete laminate and seal design must be selected for the product, rather than inferred from the decorative outer paper.
The repeat should place the main mark on the visible face after the wrapper is closed, with secondary graphics kept out of seams and twist zones. A print repeat is the measured distance before a design begins again on a roll. An eye mark is a small printed registration block that wrapping equipment reads to control cutting and sealing.
Common prepress practice extends edge artwork 0.125 in, or 3 mm, past the trim and uses 300 dpi raster images at final size. RGB artwork can shift during conversion for press, thin reversed type can fill in, and a pattern can appear off-center when its repeat ignores the seam. Check the assembled wrap, not only the flat layout.
Sheets suit hand wrapping and manual packing stations, while roll stock means wrapper material supplied as a continuous wound web for compatible equipment. Web width is the material width across the roll, and unwind direction records which face and leading edge feed first. The equipment record should also state maximum roll diameter, eye-mark position, and whether splices are allowed. A splice is the join between two lengths of material. A roll wound in the wrong direction can place the seal or front graphic on the wrong face.
Use the food packaging range to compare the wrapper with its secondary pack. Record how finished units nest in the master carton, because loose twists, thick end folds, and stacked seams change the case count.
A wrapped sample should survive folding or twisting, normal handling, label application, secondary packing, and opening without hiding required copy or exposing the product. The digital proof sent before printing should identify the correct repeat, cut position, seam, eye mark, and artwork version. See the sample kit page.
