Small candle box size should be based on the packed jar, lid, label, and insert, with enough clearance for the closure to move without rubbing. Measure the container at its widest point and the full packed height. A dieline is the flat cutting template that shows box panels, scores, cut lines, and glue tabs. Give those dimensions before artwork starts.
A glass jar can chip at the rim. A metal tin can dent at the edge. Record the exact container, lid, label, and packout used for the order. If the candle ships inside a mailer, measure that outer packout too.
Paperboard suits a shelf carton, rigid board holds a gift box shape, and corrugated board gives an outer shipper more structure. E-flute is a thin corrugated flute between liners. B-flute is thicker, so it changes wall space and stacking behavior. The right choice follows the candle container and the route it takes after packing.
